Project Goal
Create a platform dedicated to industrial and manual workers, providing them with verified job opportunities from trusted companies and catering to their unique needs. The app incorporates elements from LinkedIn and Tinder, focusing on skills, qualifications, and compatibility rather than explicit diversity information about users.
Problem
Manual and industrial workers looking for a job need to find a way to make the job applications process fit their needs because existing platforms do not align with the specific criteria of manual laborers. HR professionals also face challenges in finding suitable candidates for physically demanding jobs. The traditional job application process is complex and inefficient for both job seekers and employers.
Solution
BTalent is a platform designed for industrial and manual workers, using AI-powered matching algorithms to connect them with verified job opportunities. The app simplifies the application process, offers filtering options based on criteria like minimum salary, and incorporates features like resume upload and AI assistance for cover letters.
Imagine this: On the one hand, there is a shortage of skilled industrial and manual workers in Europe. On the other hand, many of these skilled workers find themselves unemployed and unable to connect with suitable job opportunities.
During our market research, we discovered that a staggering 93% of HR professionals struggle to find suitable skilled workers for physically demanding jobs. HR professionals value traditional application materials like resumes, comprehensive portfolios, and cover letters, while job seekers prefer a simplified application process without all the hassle. So, we’re faced with a problem: there’s a gap between companies and manual workers.
That’s where BTALENT comes in.
BTalent's goal is to create a dedicated platform for industrial and manual workers, offering verified opportunities from trusted companies that meet their unique needs. The platform utilizes AI-powered matching algorithms to connect skilled workers with suitable job offers. Users can filter job offers based on criteria such as minimum salary and easily communicate with companies through a chat feature. The app is specifically designed to cater to the needs of blue-collar workers, our target audience.
Through our collaboration with stakeholders and extensive research, including surveys with 197 respondents and interviews, we gained valuable insights into the needs and challenges faced by blue-collar workers in the industrial and manual labor sectors.

Ideation
During the ideation phase, we brainstormed and sketched out various ideas to conceptualize the features of the app. Our main ideas and goals for the app include:
Colors — Typography — Style Tile
Regarding design considerations, we had creative freedom except for one important aspect – incorporating the existing bee logo. This logo represented values of hard work and collaboration and each component held symbolic meaning. To leverage this symbolism, we came up with a brilliant idea. We transformed each element of the bee logo into an eye-catching pattern that seamlessly integrated into our presentations and final product.
Final Product
In our product, we placed significant emphasis on creating a streamlined and user-friendly onboarding experience. Our goal was to make it effortless for users to complete the onboarding process, whether they were walking or sitting on a train. To achieve this, we divided the onboarding process into two main sections: profile setting and job searching.
Final Product
The rest of the app is designed to be as simple as possible. With the swipe and match principle integrated into the job search process, we ensure a user-friendly experience. On the dashboard, all the essential information is gathered and easily visible at first glance.
